Infant Baptism
In order to have a child baptized at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, first time parents are required to attend a baptism preparation class. Classes are held once a month, on the second Saturday, at 10:00 am in the Chapel. Baptism Information Forms will be completed and baptism dates selected at the class. Advance registration is required.
Baptisms are scheduled to be celebrated on Saturdays at 12 pm Noon and on Sundays at 1:45 pm. For more information, or to register for a baptism preparation class, please call Mary Lawler at 704.362.5047 ext. 204.
Baptism of Older Children
Children must be baptized prior to receiving 1st Reconciliation and 1st Eucharist. If you have a child who is 7 years old or older and has not yet been baptized, you should contact a priest or deacon to discuss what steps you need to take in order to have your child receive baptism. You can find a list of St. Gabriel priests and deacons on this website under STAFF.
Adult Baptism
The Catholic Church traditionally recognizes all baptisms performed by other Christian denominations. Unbaptized adults who wish to receive the sacrament of baptism at St. Gabriel Catholic Church should contact Director of Religious Education Susan Krasniewski at 704.362.5047 ext. 210 or skrasniewski@stgabrielchurch. More information about adult baptism can be found on this website under ADULT EDUCATION/RCIA .
