SACRAMENTS FOR OLDER CHILDREN
Rising 3rd through 8th grades:
· Students who are beginning the process of preparing for the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist should be enrolled in the Christian Initiation for Children program. The CIC program is two years in length, and the children who complete both years will receive the sacraments in the spring of Year 2.
· Those 3rd through 8th grade students still needing the sacrament of Baptism should prepare for and receive that sacrament during the first CIC year. Parents should contact Mary Lawler at mlawler@stgabrielchurch.org or 704.362.5047 ext. 204 to make arrangements for Baptism.
· CIC 1 and CIC 2 classes meet Sundays at 3:45 pm or Sundays at 6:30 pm.
Rising 9th through 12th grades:
· There is a program uniquely designed for high-school level students (9th through 12th grades) who have not received Baptism, Eucharist, Reconciliation and/or Confirmation. This one-year program – CIC Teen – meets Wednesdays from 6:30 to 7:30 pm.
· Students who complete the CIC Teen program will receive Baptism, First Eucharist and Confirmation at the Easter Vigil Mass. Arrangements for First Reconciliation are made separately.
For information on the CIC 1 & 2 and/or CIC Teen programs, please contact Trish Stewart at 704.362.5047 ext. 219 or tstewart@stgabrielchurch.org.
